Vertical mast lifts are unique pieces of equipment. They occupy a unique niche, being very well suited to work in tight and confined areas. For more information about vertical mast lifts and what kinds of jobs they are useful for, read this guide from Melton Machinery & Material Handling.

What is a Vertical Mast Lift?

A vertical mast lift is a type of aerial lift. As mentioned before, these kinds of lifts are designed for work in very tight and confined areas. If you need a lift that can provide up to 35 ft. in height that can also squeeze through with only 2-3 ft. in width, a vertical mast lift is for you. This compactness makes them a better choice for hard-to-access areas than boom lifts or scissor lifts and also makes for easier storage and transportation.

Types of Vertical Mast Lifts

Vertical mast lifts are available in push-around and drivable models. Push-around lifts are transported by being pushed around on wheels. They are more compact and better suited for short, routine tasks. Driveable vertical mast lifts are “driven” around using the control panel. They have extra features like handrails, emergency stop buttons, and fork pockets for transportation. Drivable models are well suited to more intensive work like repairs and factory maintenance.
